Rare investment piece worthy of addition to any Fine Artist Collection.

D’Arcy W. Doyle was a popular renowned Australian artist whose paintings were of historical Australian working scenes such as this piece called "THE SHEARING SHED", landscapes, outback and Queenslander style houses with Jacaranda trees, and particularly nostalgic scenes of children playing in the street and cricketers. His work is realist style, reminiscent of the illustrations of American painter Norman Rockwell.

Born on November 19, 1932 in Ipswich, Australia, Doyle had no formal education in the arts and learned most of skills from copying the work of sign writers and by drawing his observed environment. His largest commercial success came from prints based on his paintings, which were subsequently used for calendars and advertisements throughout Australia. Doyle died on August 28, 2001 in Mudgeeraba, Australia. . The original Australian milled frame, which is included in the price, is still in excellent condition.

Painted on a timber board.
